The salary of journalists in Switzerland is shaped by several factors. Professionals in the cantons of Bern, Lucerne and Appenzell Innerrhoden tend to earn particularly well, while wages in Ticino, Aargau and Zurich are generally lower. Qualifications also play an important role: those with vocational training or a baccalaureate-level qualification typically earn more than newcomers without such credentials.
